  • Imagine you could match the colour of your lips to your favourite lip-stick shade; Hello Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk! Lip blushing is the next big thing in permanent makeup and for many reasons! Lip blush not only enhances the colour of your lips, it creates a fuller looking lip, and defines the border of your lips. We can even help to balance asymmetries!

We’re armed with the education and newest tools and products to be able to offer the safest and most natural looking lip blush on the market. The options are endless, with the appearance of a sheer lip stain, tinted lip balm and the perfect base for a brighter lip colour for those who like to wear a bit more. With an array of colour choices we are able to opt for the most natural looking, nudest shade to more deeper and bolder berry reds.

Lip Blush is the perfect treatment to combine with lip filler to enhance the fullness & colour of your lips. Do your lip filler first and lip blush 4 weeks after!

  • Lip neutralization is a specialized treatment for those with cool, or dark-toned lips. It is a procedure often performed on clients with darker skin tones or those whose lips have darkened over time due to weather conditions, hyperpigmentation, or underlying medical issues.

Lip neutralization involves adding pigment into the lip area to balance darker tones and enhance the natural lip colour for a more consistent and brighter lip colour. The treatment creates a subtle, rather than saturated effect to ensure natural-looking results. whilst injectables (lip fillers) are great for adding permanent volume to the lip area, lip neutralization is perfect for adding colouring and definition to lips.

FAQs

  • This information is provided to ensure minimal bleeding during the tattooing procedure. Failure to follow the below instructions can result in poor healed results. Bleeding during the procedure forces the pigment out of the skin.

Do not consume any caffeine or alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. This includes coffee, energy drinks, pre-workout and tea. Do not take fish oils for a week before your treatment. Caffeine, alcohol & fish oils act as a blood thinner, causing you to bleed more. This will stop the cosmetic tattoo pigment from holding in the skin during the tattoo process!

Use a lip scrub and lip balm every day for ONE WEEK leading up to your appointment. Lip scrub daily with a mix of sugar and olive/coconut oil (make up a small jar of 1 tbsp of sugar and 1 tsp of your chosen oil, alternatively you can purchase a lip scrub but this recipe does just the same!) and use this daily. You should also be using an ultra-hydrating & moisturizing lip balm to get those lips smooth & soft! This allows the pigment to go into the skin easily, as well as the numbing cream to be effective.

If you suffer from cold sores you will need to take anti-viral tablets 1 week before and after the appointment. This is to stop the risk of infection! A cosmetic lip tattoo will trigger an outbreak if you suffer from cold sores, so it is highly recommended that you take these tablets!

You won't be able to heavily exercise (cause the face to sweat), use a sauna, swim or tan for ONE week. Moderate exercise is fine.

Facials & skin peels should be avoided for one week pre & post tattooing.

Lip filler should be done 1 month before or 2 months after your lip blush appointment.

You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or before your menstrual cycle.

  • Following the aftercare instructions is extremely important in order to ensure good retention of colour during the healing process. Aftercare accounts for over 60% of the healed results.

Apply any medicated cream or healing balm as recommended by your technician. The cream should be applied for up to 7 days. Do not let the lips dry out - they should always have some form of aftercare balm or healing balm on at ALL TIMES!

Avoid getting the area wet for up to 7 days, which includes keeping your face dry during a shower. Use a damp face cloth or face wipe to clean your face.

Use a damp cotton pad to gently wipe the area for the first day. This will reduce the build-up of lymph fluid as the lips heal and reduce the chances of scabbing.

Don’t put makeup on your lips for at least ten days. This is because the skin is still healing. Applying makeup to the lips will increase the chance of infection.

Don’t pick at scabs, tug, or itch the eyebrow area. Again, this will increase the chance of infection and possibly cause skin damage and scarring.

Avoid saunas, swimming, and excessive sweating until the area is completely healed, which may take up to two weeks.

Drink from a straw! You want to keep the lips dry!

    Do not eat spicy foods!

Avoid kissing while the lips are healing! SORRY!

Long-Term Aftercare: Wear lip balm with at least SPF 15+ in it! Sun exposure over a prolonged period of time will fade the tattoo. Do not use chemical acids/ peels (salicylic, glycolic, lactic acids), IPL or laser on the healed cosmetic tattoo, as these will fade the tattoo over time.

  • Healing time: 5 - 7 days

Your lips will appear a lot darker and intense than what they will look like once healed. You need to trust the healing process! Over the first few days, they will be at their darkest. They might scab and flake, this is completely normal. While they heal, this will fade to reveal a much lighter colour. The lips tend to fade around 70-80%! Please keep in mind that everyone’s skin will heal differently! The true colour of the tattoo will not be revealed until after 6 weeks. The touch-up is then completed at 6-8 weeks to perfect any areas that need some extra attention, as well as adding more colour if needed!

  • Dark lips can get lip blush too! If you have darker tones (such as blue, purple or brown colours) within the lips, this can be neutralized first. To neutralize the darker tones, this may take anywhere from 1-4 sessions. Please be aware of this before you book! You will not be able to achieve your desired colour in one session only!

At your consultation, we will discuss a detailed pricing overview for your custom lip neutraliation.
