FAQs

  • Chemical peels use different acids, in a range of different strengths to renew the skins surface. Depending on your concerns, your peel may include glycolic acid, salicylic, lactic, fruit acids and/or resorcinol acids. As nursing professionals, we can use strengths that are higher than a non-regulated group of professionals. Our peels range from light to medium depth. Chemical peels can help to reduce acne, erase hyperpigmentation, sunspots, wrinkles, fine lines, scarring, dryness, and uneven skin tone.

  • A chemical peel works by applying a chemical solution to the skin, which causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. This process removes dead skin cells, stimulates the growth of new skin cells, and can help improve various skin concerns such as acne, uneven pigmentation, and fine lines.

  • As we only offer light to medium chemical peels, and there is NOT a significant amount of downtime, only “soclal” downtime. Your skin may be rosy for 1-3 days following the treatment, and then it will begin to peel for a couple days. You’ll be dry and flaky especially around your mouth. We recommend lots of moisturizing ingredients to help you heal up fast!

  • Chemical peels make you photosensitive which means you must avoid the sun following your peel. Peels are best done in the fall and winter or if you can avoid direct sunlight for 1 week following your treatment.

  • When performed by a qualified professional, chemical peels are safe with low risks.

  • The frequency of chemical peels depends on your skin type, concerns, and the type of peel used, but on average clients can do a peel every 4 weeks.

  • No, we advice you wait 2 weeks before undergoing any other treatment.
