Do You Need These Beauty “Must Haves”?

Jade rollers, Gua Sha, and Lip plumpers… Try it or skip it?

Spend 5 minutes scrolling through Tik Tok (or reels if you’re an IG girlie) and you’ll see an intricate skincare routine involving a derma-roller, jade roller, lip plumper, wrinkle tape and even a mini fridge… you know, just for the skincare.

ARE ALL OF THESE BEAUTY “MUST-HAVES” ESSENTIAL TO KEEP YOUR SKIN FIRM AND YOUTHFUL?

Let’s take a look…

Jade Roller

These feel nice and can offer a relaxing face massage, but their results don’t go beyond self-care. A jade roller will not harm your skin, so if you enjoy it, keep using it.

Wrinkle Tape

This one can backfire. When you use wrinkle tape with the intention to stop movement in areas of your face you want to prevent wrinkles, you’re actually creating more dynamic movements in other areas of your face. The result: wrinkles. Skip it!

At-Home Dermarolling

Please don’t. These create micro-injuries in the skin, and the home versions lack the quality and precision of the tools we use for professional micro-needling which could lead to infection! This is 100% a nope. Leave it to the pros.

Lip Plumpers

We love juicy lips as much as you do, and plumpers are a fun way to give your lips some extra oomph. Plumpers work by using ingredients that create a mild irritation on your lips causing them to swell and tingle. But, as soon as the product wears off, your lips will go back to normal. They’re fine on occasion, but will not replace lip filler.

The verdict: You don’t need it

While some at-home tools can add to your self-care routine, if you want to see real change in your face, nothing beats injectables and esthetic treatments.

We’re not big on trends, we’re big on results. We like to keep things safe, effective and science-backed.

  •  If you want to prevent and/or soften wrinkles, try Botox or Dysport.

  • If you want plump, juicy lips, try Lip Filler.

  • If you want to improve your skin tone and texture, try Microneedling.
